Fantastic performance by the Spanish officials so far , the
penalty for handball was a exceptional idea of how VAR should be
used it was quick and decisive by the VAR to point it out to
Cerro Grande

Handball correct and very good decision.
However, the second penalty the attacker clearly puts his leg
into Van Dijk who doesn’t do anything other than run, never VAR
stiff. What’s the difference between that and the foul not given
on Henderson vs Fulham? Nothing.
Too much whistle overall from Del Cerro Grande. Gives too many
soft free kicks.

I still haven’t seen these penalty decisions on television but
live in the stadium the second one appeared to be given because
the Napoli forward was, not for the first time, at death’s door
after the slightest contact. I can tell you we were so relieved
that the award of the penalty restored him to such magnificent
health that he was able to spring to his feet and take it
himself. It was weak refereeing and ridiculous VAR intervention.
Clear and obvious error? Do me a favour.

We had our doubts after the horrendous time we had there on our
last visit but it was a really good trip. Stay by the marina and
don’t go into the city centre and it’s fine. It was just a
ninety-minute spell that wasn’t very good!

The fact that Hernandez the VAR in this game is not appointed
with Lahoz to this game suggests that UEFA are unhappy with his
performance.
