SHouldn't have built a ground so far outside town....?
[/quote] It isn't that far from town, and was the only viable
location after exhaustive considerations of other sites. The
main problem is that too much is relied on Falmer station (far
from the most significant one on the Southern Railway). When the
trains are running as per normal schedule, getting from Brighton
(or Lewes) to Falmer is straightforward, and the trains are not
over-full on the outward journey because those attending the
AMEX tend to stagger their arrival times. However, at the end of
matches, most will wish to return to Brighton, and this leads to
massive congestion. Crystal Palace fans wishing to return to
Croydon - almost inevitably via Brighton - are an additional
       problem in any event.

Having worked in Lewes when there has been a match between these
two sides, a lot of palace fans go via Lewes on the Eastbourne
train to Falmer and avoid Brighton. This helps with some
segregation however it can be a nightmare to police.

Appreciate that but I’ve been to the Amex and it was in the
middle of nowhere. It was absolutely horrendous getting to and
       from the ground

Now that the rail strikes have been called off, can we assume
that the game will be reinstated? Act in haste.....

Probably not because it's highly likely all games that weekend
will also be postponed due the Queen's funeral.
