Antiques Roadshow

Watching a bit of undemanding Sunday evening television I saw
that one of the items brought for valuation was the infamous
photograph of Vinnie Jones grabbing Paul Gascoigne in an
intimate place. The person bringing the photo to the Roadshow
was the referee that day in February 1988 whose name wasn't
mentioned but the photo, which had been given to him by work
colleagues on his retirement and signed by both Jones and
Gascoigne had the inscription on it reading Dear Mike. So who
was it ? The Roadshow was filmed in Nottingham but the only
person I can think of would be Mike Reed ( Birmingham ) but if
it is him he has certainly changed a lot. Can anyone give the
definitive answer please ?

or, Upton Suggests, Mike Dimblebee ( Stevenage ) in what would

looked like at all

Yes saw this as well. Wondering who the referee was. And worth
over £1000 as well. Fantastic!

A little research on Google, which perhaps I should have done
first, confirms that it was indeed Mike Dimblebee.

Mike lived in a Nottm suburb in 2017, and perhaps still does, so
the story hangs together.

I always thought the referee for this game was John Deakin of
Llantwit Major and formerly Bedford, but I bow to more informed
decisions.
