Paul Tierney - Man U v Arsenal

I thought I would open the post ready for the avalanche.
My opinion, there is meant to be a higher bar so would not
normally be given. It would be interesting to know how many
times VAR and then Paul Tierney reviewed, if you can't decide
within 2/3 looks if can't be a clear and obvious mistake.

If it doesn’t lead to a goal then it’s not going to be given
this season, it’s ridiculous that there are 2 different
standards

To my mind var should not be re refereeing occurences outside
the penalty area.
Var should be there in cases of offside, a red card offence,
mistaken identity or missed offences in the penalty area
Resulting in the need for a goal to be overturned or a penalty
kick to be awarded if the referee misses an offence.
If a foul is missed by the referee in midfield when he is only a
few yards away from the incident should not be reviewed unless a
red card offence is missed or incorrectly sanctioned.
The implementation of var in the english premier league is
ruining the game and making a mockery of officials.

United a bit lucky with the Arsenal disallowed goal. Good
advantage in the lead up to the United goal but that was a poor
challenge on Fernandes that Tierney missed.

I think it’s fair to say that this weekend VAR is taking a
bashing and rightly so. There is nothing wrong with VAR it’s the
decisions by the officials reviewing the incidents. Mr Tierney
is 10 yds from the Erickson challenge deems it fair and plays
on. How VAR can look at it and deem it a clear and obvious
mistake is beyond me. Perhaps dare I suggest Man Utd at home
😉. Very poor decision and I cannot understand why he
puts up with so much backchat particularly Fernandes give him a
yellow card and if necessary a red he would soon get the
messsge. The only plus for Mr Tierney is a very good advantage
for the United goal.

No way a clear and obvious error. Eriksen is clearly looking for
it. Reminds me of the Origi VAR incident a few years ago, very
similar which wasn't deemed a foul.

I would say that defeat and the disallowed goal were both harsh
on arsenal , VAR has dominated the headlines this weekend for
all the wrong reasons , the disallowed goal aside I thought
overall Tierney was good , tried to keep in the background and
only got involved when he needed and rounded it off with a
sublime advantage for utds opening goal
