I am sure that on this (rare) occasion you are completely wrong.
I clearly recall some TV coverage of him in his refereeing kit
actually turning out to referee a local parks game.

Colin should be relieved it wasn’t Andy’s brother in charge. As
for the challenge I thought it deserved a yellow card so he does
have a point.
He chooses to insult an official by calling him “Sunday League”
or whatever which is somewhat ironic given his style of
“football” and his constant abuse of Referees is what would be
expected on the touch lines of the parks on a Sunday.

My interpretation of Warnock's comments is that he was
suggesting that Deeney should have been booked not sent off. On
this basis, if this is the biggest complaint he could find - a
possible missed YC - then I think Mr Madley must have a decent
game.
Of course, this wasn't even his first PL match - he took charge
of Watford v Bournemouth towards the end of last season.

Indeed.
I thought that Martin Atkinson should have cautioned Firmino in
the Liverpool V Man Utd game yesterday but I'm sure Warnock
wouldn't suggest that he was Sunday morning level.
Perhaps Madley is actually fitting in well ;)
Actually, Warnock's main complaint seemed to be that Andre
Marriner had been appointed as Fourth Official. I saw him say in
one interview that he'd have been happier if they'd had another
inexperienced official as Fourth Official which seems a bizarre
perspective to take as it seems eminently sensible to appoint
someone of Marriner's experience to help mentor a younger,
promising official and to hopefully keep the likes of Warnock in
check.
I hope that Warnock is charged.

This from Tony Cascarino in today's Times:
I spoke to Neil Warnock on the radio last season and he was so
proud and passionate in his love for the Sky Bet Championship,
the grittiness, the graft, and in a way, it is almost like he
does not like the Premier League. Cardiff City played in one of
the weekend's best games, with some great goals scored as they
lost 3-2 away to Watford. It was a shame that he did not reflect
that in his post-match comments. It was unfair for him to pick
out the referee, Andrew Madley, and call him a "trainee" - if
you feel that, then speak to the referees' association. Everyone
has to work their way up the ladder and Madley did not get much
wrong. The kind of challenges Warnock was saying he missed were
the kind of full-bloodied tackles you get in the Championship.
I'll say Amen to that Tony. I think back to Warnock at the
Palace when he referred to Clive Penton as 'too old' to be
refereeing in the Championship, and a few weeks later, he spoke
of a referee as 'too young' to be in charge of a key FA Cup
game. That referee was.... Michael Oliver. I don't care whether
Neil has passed his exams and refereed in the past or not, the
sort of comments about Andrew Madley and others are not
justified or needed.

Yes, that was a strange one - seemed to tick all the boxes of a
standard YC, even more so as he had already booked Dalot and
didn't give him the 'first tackle' exemption. Certainly not a
KMI but just strange. However, thought Atkinson was excellent
overall.

I stand corrected then, I was sure I had seen Warnock himself
say that he was never a proper referee but I can't find it.

For what it's worth I felt the challenge by Deeney was probably
worth a YC but he slid a long way and it wasn't easy to tell
whether he could have stopped sooner.
Delighted to see Andy Madley in the PL.
On a general note, I was surprised so few comments about PL
games when catching up after we were away for 2 weeks. For
example, Chelsea v Man City was a top match and I would have
expected some discussion. Just wondering therefore:-
Have there just been less contentious incidents in the PL
recently or have referees been performing to a high standard
that controversy has been avoided?

I've lost count how many times Colin has been asked to explain
his remarks after games.
The FA need to deal with him aggressively, however I'm sure
they'll give him a slap on the wrist and move on.
Hardly a strong way of tackling this kind of behaviour, even
though it's the usual suspects like Colin who always seem to be
one of the main protagonists.
