He appears not to be doing so. I hope he isn't injured, he
hasn't had the best of luck with injuries. Perhaps it's holiday
or family commitments though I would be surprised if a full time
SG2 referee were allowed to take holiday so early in the new
season

It really doesn't work like that. They are humans the same as
any other employees, they can request holiday at any time. It
would be discouraged during the season, but if they are going to
a wedding, family birthday, or even stag do, they will get a
week off.

don't understand the sg2 appointments either-why use
England,Harrington and Kavanagh for weekend and midweek-i can
understand kavanaghs as he can gently be eased back by doing
weekend and midweek before returning to prem action but clueless
when it comes to England and Harrington

Leigh Doughty replaced Darren England at Blackburn as England
replaced Graham Scott in the premier league at the Etihad.

Andy Davies with another mistake - definite penalty. His answer,
according to Steve Bruce, was that he had a player in his way,
comes from no dynamic movement towards penalty area as attack
developed and didnt seem to make much of an angle either.

Well that's good to read. I will look out for Smith's name in
the forthcoming appointments. Let's hope it's there.
