Even if the ball had been in play you don't seriously believe
that was worthy of a penalty?
How about the fact that Nunez had already thrown his head back
into Anderson which is what started everything off?

headbutt, it’s well short of what Nunez just did.
Boggles the mind that a footballer would do such a thing at this
level. Like, if Tierney doesn’t see that then VAR has him
packing.
Not sure what the guidance is for the extent of bans, but that
deserves far more than your standard VC.

Appeared to boggle the mind of Jurgen Klopp too. Good to see a
manager offer no excuses for one of his players. It shows it
can be done without simultaneously throwing his player to the
wolves.

That's one of the things our Federation are amazing on. The
disciplinary committee sit every Tuesday (plus Weds & Thurs if
it's been a busy weekend!) and every red card is looked at in
detail, the referee report read, the footage from the game
watched and they decide the punishment on merit. With VC/SFP
they think nothing of giving out a 4/5+ match ban. 2 players
squaring up in a moment of toxic masculinity and sent off for VC
might just get a 1 match ban, Nunes would be looking at a
minimum 5 match ban. One player got in the face of a referee,
looked to touch foreheads but not clear if he actually made
contact - 4 month ban & his club sacked him. Discipline is
strict & it works. I like the system, it's much fairer than
having the set 1 or 3 match ban. We do also have set bans, a YYR
card is always a 1 match ban, and totting up 5 yellows is 1
match, for example, but every red card card is dealt with on the
severity and merit. They deal with every league as well, male &
female, from the NBI down to county level so there is
consistency across the leagues. They also deal with things like
pyros, any crowd issues etc.

Mitrovic is one was just a couple of players going head to head
like rutting stags which you see all the time, the other, Nunez,
was akin to what you would see outside Wetherspoons at midnight.
Fairly simple to spot the difference I’d say.
Another thing, Jack, and I hope you’re sitting down as this may
come as a shock to you, but it is actually possible for
Liverpool to fail to win a game of football and for it NOT to be
the fault of the referee. Mind blowing I know, but true

Where did I blame the Paul Tierney? And I did say that I agree
it was a red. Just that I think mitrovic also should have gone.

On this, I didn't see the incident live or in full, so if ive
misinterpretted the incident then please ignore me. But I notice
that whilst Nunez got a red in the 57' Anderson also got a
yellow in the 57'. So my assumption is he was cautined for the
push/AAA, and then Nunes obv. sent off for VC.
Therefore IF the ball had stayed in play (maybe was still
running towards the touchline) and the players acted in the same
manner, then by law (if not common sense) then the first action
(that the referee saw and took action on) was the Anderson push
and therefore play would have been restartd with a penalty? or
at least a LFC IDK - on the grounds that the game stopped to
show cards and restartes with a IFK?

The Mitrovic/Gibbs-White incident was completely different, you
must be able to see that?
You’ve posted a few times on this thread questioning Tierney,
namely asking why it wasn’t a penalty, when in the law it
couldn’t possibly be. And the stating that “he lost the plot”.
He certainly didn’t lose the plot, far from it, he refereed
calmly and sensibly, and any rational neutral would say the
same.
After the Fulham-Liverpool game last week you were on here
berating Madley, one of your comments being that he “gave
everything to Fulham “. Again, pure hyperbole on your part, and
basically just making things up to suit your agenda.
That’s two Liverpool games this season, I’ve seen them both, one
live at Fulham, and the Palace game on Sky. In both games the
refs were excellent, very understated, and just quietly gone
about their jobs. If the players choose to act like idiots
that’s their problem.
My point is that you seem to have found a lot of fault with the
refs in both games, which to me, clearly shows you are assessing
these guys through very red tinted glasses, rather than
objectively.
It’s very hard not to sometimes, I’ll admit that, but IMHO
you’ve way overdone it in these two games.
Don’t want to get into an argument about it, that’s not what
this forum is about, but also felt obliged to say my piece.
