Doing my best to ignore my blue tinted glasses [emoji4] but why
wasn't that a penalty? As obvious and blatant as they come. And
before anybody asks, yes, I would say the same if it were the
other end of the pitch. [emoji1] Not Mr. Tierney's finest game
but I have the consolation that it made no difference to the
result, thankfully.

Wasn't watching but he only stays on as long as the treatment is
not prolonged after the caution procedure is finished. If they
were waiting longer due to treatment he leaves, caution or not.

See Tierney has continued in the same vein as last season.
Didn’t have a clue what was a foul, some contact he let go, some
he didn’t. Clear penalty for Brighton completely ignored, fail
to clamp down on time wasting from Brighton.
Booked shaw for a foul presumably totting up, but didn’t book
the Brighton player when he pulled back fernandes when United
were breaking.
Very very poor.
But I’m sure he will have Chelsea spurs next week

New season, same Tierney how he hasn't awarded a penalty or been
advised by the assistant both of whom had a great view of the
incident but then the error is compounded by VAR not getting
involved to recommend a OFR. Keep hearing high bar being
mentioned seems we are headed back to the early days of VAR
.....

Not sure I blame the officials, they still appear to be scared
about what will happen to them if they recommend a review. Or
if they are the referee, what will happen if they look at the
review and stick with original decision. Its a leadership
problem, and that will continue until Mike Riley's replacement
is in place.

You don’t need a ceo above you to tell you that’s a penalty. a
blind man reffing a Sunday league match down the local park
would have given that.
You cannot Defend blatant incompetence

If that s not a penalty at Old Trafford this season, then
Ronaldo is going to cry a lots for the tumbles he takes in the
penalty area. All three involved (R, AR & VAR) should be have a
weeks rest.
At L4, that would be a missed KMI and a substandard mark.

Don't be silly, accountability doesn't exist in the PGMOL. If
they gave them a week off then there would only be a handful of
referees available. Tierney would have had most of last season
off if that was the case.
Not sure you can blame Hatzidakis as he probably thought Tierney
had a clear view (which he did).
Not sure what planet John Brooks was on, must have been too busy
falling asleep having watched Man United in the first half.

Tierney shouldn't have needed it he was looking straight at it,
just as he was in Spurs vs Liverpool last season. Tierney
obviously thinks barging through the back of people is allowed.
Its not like Hatzidakis is a reliable assistant referee however,
as shown in Forest vs Bournemouth last season.

Thought Paul Tierney didn't have the best of games. His foul
detection wasn't great and didn't fill me with confidence
whenever a decision was made. With regards to the Mctominay
incident, I feel it's one of those decisions where whatever the
referee gives on-field won't be overturned. Thought it was a
blatant penalty and still can't work out as to why he, his
assistant nor the VAR didn't give it. Felt they took to long to
decide whether or not the Man Utd goal should stand especially
when they were checking for offside even though the ball was in
the net by the time Harry Maguire tried to get something on it.
