Sorry to say but Thomas Parsons was very poor at Grimsby. Too
easily conned by simulation and far to lenient on professional
fouls. It was 85 mins for first yellow card, need to stamp his
authority earlier. Also needs to read up on Law 8 Section 2.
Dropped balls. Three time he dropped the ball for the keeper
when the ball was out of the area in possession of the other
team. To be fair he wasn't helped by the number of player who
went down with cramp or holding their heads. Head injuries can
be serious, but players seem to recover very quickly, perhaps a
5 min off field assessment should be compulsory.

Shrewsbury Skipper was told after Referee had consulted his
assistant, the assistant said it was a red card, 1st for getting
involved and second for retaliation. Really couldn't work that
out. No way could dissent have been involved as free kick was
given to Shrewsbury so no decision against them to complain
about. No action taken against goalkeeper or any Accrington
players.
Could have understood if Flanagan had been given straight red
but two yellows. Thought Mcconville the Accrington skipper
played the Referee very well. At least 3 times when 1 up they
were given free kicks and told where to take it from. Mcconville
deliberately placed the ball 5 yards in advance and waited to be
told to take it back. Wasted time perfectly. Also winning goal
came from a throw in that came off Accrington player last and
then was taken at least 60 yards possible more from where it
went out.

Regardless of whether the decision was right or wrong, what a
provocative way to send a player off. Was he hoping he would get
a response and be able to flash his card again ? Sending off is
a serious matter and I would hope his observer put him straight
on this. The general consensus from normally calm fans was that
he had a poor game, but Accrington have learned to milk the head
injury rule to continuously break up play, as well as playing
the referee, which any experienced official should be alert to.
As far as I am aware no cautions were issued for time wasting
which I understood was to be stamped down on.

One of Flanagan’s yellow cards has been transferred to the
goalkeeper due to “mistaken identity”. No suspension to be
served.

No quite sure how you mistake a Slovakian accent and a Northern
Irish one?

Last time Andy Haines sent off a Shrewsbury player was 2019.
That was overturned as well

Think you will find its the push that was mistaken not the
dissent

Keeper didn't push anyone. Might have elbowed someone but that
is another story. Must admit keepers kit and Blue and Amber
stripes are easy to mistake 🙈 could have understood
straight red cards.

If Haines saw that as a push I wouldn’t complain. It does make
you wonder how an incident took place right in front of him
could turn out to be such a mess.
