He missed a clear RC in the first incident, mismanaged the
second, and the game ended in a fight. Not the finest afternoon
at any rate.

Madden cannot be held responsible for what happened after the
final whistle. He will no doubt report and both sides will
receive a fine - quite rightly - but its time managers and clubs
took responsibility for the behaviour of their players!

Be interested in your thoughts on mismanagement of the second
incident Mikael? I thought he dealt with it in a way that would
leave ‘football’ blaming the player rather than the referee. Of
course maybe he could have been more aware and prevented it in
the build up, for me though the player tied his hands.

That could have happened with any referee, even one with
extensive EFL experience.
Do you know what led to this so-called fight and how Mr Madden
was responsible for it?

He should be in the Championship immediately..
Any official who can officiate the Old Firm Derby with ease and
authority ( one of the most challenging games around) should be
in the PL sooner IMO.
Some current SG1 would struggle with the Glaswegian derby.

Not sure how many times this can be said, but he has moved to
England due to work If he was moving for personal reasons then
perhaps he would have gone in at SG2 or even SG1, but you can't
be in either of those levels and have a full time job whereas
you can at L1.
For the incident with Tomlin I was well done to the referee. He
has tried to engineer a situation to get an opponent and it
backfired, he only has himself to blame.

I predict it will be said at least 30 more times this season...

I would take anything Charlie Richmond says with a pinch of
salt, he and another ref Steve Conroy both left the refereeing
ranks up here after disputes with the SFA and tend to get
wheeled out in the red top press with these "I know what is
going on scoops" from time to time.
