S Frappart, England v Spain

I saw the 2nd half and all of extra time. I thought that
Stephanie was good and didn't miss a trick. Commentator
suggested that she had 'let things go' earlier in the game, but
I don't believe that this would have detracted in any way from
what was an entertaining game. Spain seemed convinced that there
was a foul in the build-up to the England equaliser but I
couldn't see it and neither (it seems) did the VAR. Stephanie is
clearly extremely fit and her overall performance suggests that
we have not seen the last of her in this tournament.

I didn't like how she ended the game - there was a contentious
GK/corner decision and she blew for full time rather than
adjudicating - it felt a bit panicked to me and there was also
time remaining as there was a lengthy stoppage within added
time.
I've seen better performances over the course of the tournament
- I have found Lehtovaara and Monzul much more impressive

I actually watched this as an "Observer" as I was trying out a
new way of working (using voice memo rather than note taking).
I felt her fitness was excellent and in general her positioning
sound (although a bit too close in twice and conversely detached
twice as an attacker closed on the keeper - all minor as no
impact on game). All key decisions correct and other than one I
disagreed on, foul detection very good.
I do think she could work more on establishing relationships
with players but many have "quiet" styles so perhaps a tad
harsh. When the Spanish frustrations started to show she quickly
dispelled them showing assertiveness and strong body language.
I stopped at full time and didn't notice the stoppage in added
time so can't comment but if blowing for full time as she did, I
would not expect or want a signal for goal-kick/corner as this
would sell she is going to restart the game rather than end it.

I don't see anything wrong in blowing for HT and/or FT when the
ball goes out of play, which is all that she did. Perfectly
within the LOTG.

Agree. I've lost count of the number of times when a wayward
shot is sent into the crowd. Time is spent recovering the ball,
keeper choosing his side and eventually kicking into play only
for the whistle to go immediately.

Far better that than a 'Clive Thomas' if she had awarded Spain a
corner and the ball then ended up in the net.

I thought she was very good, and frankly I think the officials
have (generally) been excellent during the competition.
