Fitness Test

I understand the fitness tests are being held this week and
next; they may well coincide with the hottest temperatures on

I am most certainly not regretting doing mine in June. Time to
put the feet up and enjoy the sunshine with something cold to
hand! :)

If the temperature does indeed reach 40C, as is being predicted,
then I think it might be very irresponsible to conduct fitness
tests in such unprecedented extreme heat. I am presuming the
tests are held outdoors and not in an air conditioned indoor
arena

tests in such unprecedented extreme heat. I am presuming the

We had a county level referee die about 3 years ago in Hungary,
cardiac arrest brought on by heat exhaustion and several others
who suffered from heat exhaustion. The relevant county FA had
refused to cancel the tests despite temperatures in the high
30s/low 40s. Since then tests are now scheduled early morning
(6-8am) and mid evening (7-9pm) and there is always an ambulance
and doctor present for them. Horrible lesson to learn the hard
way.

We had a county level referee die about 3 years ago in Hungary,

I believe the F.A. pay for 1st aiders to be present, dont think
it involves an ambulance, although not that it would matter as
you are better off putting Someone in the car and drving them
in.
It really should the individuals decision whether to attend the
test or not, there is no penalty for not doing so there are at
least 3 more opportunities, before end of October.
