whole game if that happened anywhere but the box CDG would play
on. Thought Kane may have been offside as well. The check was
very quick so not sure how they checked that and the penalty.

VAR has to get involved here. VAR would not get involved
outside the penalty area unless there's a red card decision to
be made

As "right" as the penalty was it definitely didnt feel in
keeping with the high tolerance the ref had shown all game.
I, also thought, he had an excellent game

Interesting how VAR Munuera got involved tonight but he didn’t
in Ukraine vs Wales. In my view he got both wrong. I don’t thing
the referee himself was convinced by the penalty tonight, he
looked at it for a while. It did take a while to actually find
any contact.
He set a high tolerance level for fouls all game and it was
undermined by the VAR.

Agreed Grande was excellent.
Another Harry Kane masterclass in how to be a passenger for 89
mins, score a penalty and then be hailed as some sort of
superhero

He looked to be in an offside position when the ball was first
played, but it definitely took another touch before it went to
him. The camera didn't dwell on it so I wasn't able to see, but
it could easily have been a deliberate defensive play.
Edit: Yes. The ball was played deliberately by a German
defender to play Kane onside. This is why we need better
pundits to cover these things.

Please explain how that was a deliberate pass?

It doesn’t have to be a deliberate pass; the ball just has to be
deliberately played by the defender, which clearly it was here.

If the defender attempts to play the ball, as opposed to it
deflecting off of him, that resets the offside. Here the
defender definitely tried to play the ball, so it cannot be
offside.

Offside or not is nugatory here.
Kane was on his way down well before there was any hint of
contact on him.
No Penalty for me

Soft but replays show that contact was made, therefore penalty
award was correct.
