IIRC Woolmer was promoted to start season 04/05, alongside
Stroud and Drysdale.
Haines was for season 07/08, alongside M Oliver, S Attwell and G
Ward

Goodbye to the Legend that was Trev Kettle … so many times the
ridicule for people, but if truth be told I just feel he applied
the laws, an because he went to the letter it upset a lot of
people, obviously he made mistakes (don’t we all) but in my eyes
will be seen as a legend.
Shame for James Adcock ! Never got the luck with injuries.
Surely last season now for
Marriner
Scott
Woolmer
Haynes
Handley
R. Lewis
Nothing against any of them, but we all get older and having to
sprint trying to catch up 19/20/21 year old speed kids is not
fun. All have such experience to pass down. Maybe in each of
there minds they are thinking one more season.

Marriners's game has never involved pace, so he could go on for
a few years. Was probably one of the top SG1 referees last
season, no need for him to rush into retirement.

This is true - even the days before he reached the Football

Still going. Now the oldest referee on the list.
I think next season Andre Marriner will be the longest serving
official. I hope it won't be his last season but I might need to
start preparing bmb jr emotionally for that particular
retirement!
Joint with Kevin Friend, I think, both joining the list in
2003/04
It will be Carl Boyeson. He joined the list in 2002/03.

I have now published - on I Spy Old Referees - an updated list
of 'Final Games' based on the above posts.
Q - who (subject to amendment) remains on the list of referees
for next season who also appears in Upton's 1888 to 2005 book?
No looking up, I'm watching you! [emoji3]

I think RCG has probably supplied the answer in an earlier post.
Woolmer, Stroud, Drysdale together with Boyeson
