No way the game at Anfield needs Turpin. The game in Amsterdam
will be mouth tougher. Liverpool are an easy team to referee
really.
Compounded by the poor reputation in recent times of
England/English teams with Turpin as well it doesn’t make much
sense.

I had the impression that Turpin has been blatantly protected in
2022. Before that UCL final, after the UCL final.
He’s appointed to good games, but never the most fiery one, the
headline game of the day, or otherwise something
risky/sensitive. Especially compared to Taylor, Makkelie,
Orsato, and Marciniak. They are much much more exposed IMO.
Let’s wait for his next appointments though…

Disagree. Two British teams who are vastly opposite politically,
first time they've ever played each other competitively
(incredibly). Needs an experienced head.

Finally good news for Norwegian refereeing! Seems like Rossetti
was very pleased with Eskås in his Europa League game the other
week.
Svein Oddvar Moen was the last Norwegian to referee in the CL in
February 2016, and now he is the fourth official.

A Spanish refereeing team with their regular trip across the
border to Portugal and Makkelie back in London.

Pleased to see Donatas Rumšas in the group stages. He impressed
very much in a lively match at Foila Esch in 2017, when still in
Group 3 - the best at that level I had seen (in a limited
field!) and much more to my liking than Nicola Dabanovic had
been the night before at Dudelange.
We'll probably find in a couple of days that City fans disagree!
