If I was DE I would be (inwardly) annoyed - taken off a final at
Wembley to sit in a booth at VAR HQ - how to devalue FA comps
further (no disrepect to Tom Bramall, who I think is a decent
ref)

There aren’t many dead rubbers for the final day which is quite
unusual…
Southampton are the only team that cannot move any league
positions.

A decent fourth official appointment for Smith too.
Surprised Simpson is fourth at Burnley given the enormity of the
game.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't choose an SG1 as fourth official
for such a big game but Simpson has been amongst the better SG2s
for the last couple of seasons in my opinion so there were worse
options they could have taken. He rarely features in threads on
this site.

22 SG1 referees, 10 as refs, 10 as VAR, left only 2 and tbf they
had to go to Anfield and Ethihad.
After that SG2 and probably proximity.

Tierney has had an awful week, I'm amazed he's actually go a
game at all.
Been watching quite a bit of Championship this eason and there
are quite a few who look ready to make the step up.

Tom Bramall has replaced Darren England for that final, so no
clash.

I understood that F.A. appointments took priority over any other
domestic appointment. I'm puzzled why Mr. England has been
replaced, evidently in favour of a PL VAR appointment.

Good to see the three retiring refs with games although it would
have been nice if Dean had finished at Leicester, where he
started on the PL, rather than Moss. I will update the Final
Games database next week.
