No surprise the battle for the automatic spot has gone royalty..
Incidentally the reverse fixture at the Den drew out the yellow
kit so that’s not a good sign!

I thought Marriner would've been a perfect choice for Spurs v
Arsenal (or Kavanagh who was originally on the game...). Calm
head needed in addition to actual refereeing ability.
Presumably Aspinall getting an appointment this week is with a
nod to the final day of the season where she will be needed as
there are only 28 SG1 ARs but 30 will be needed for the final
day - will we see someone else get called up from SG2 or will
they bring back the likes of Child/Halladay (who haven't been
seen this season)?

Regarding Kavanagh, I don't think it's been especially common
for the original referee to do the rearranged game after a Covid
postponement. I think England originally had Everton V Leicester
but Coote refereed, think Scott originally had Everton V
Newcastle but Pawson refereed, think Jones initially had Leeds V
Villa but Hooper refereed, etc.
I'd forgotten about Child and Halliday - I wonder what happened
there?
It's probably a bit early to call Scott and Salsbury's games
dead rubbers. I think Brentford might want another point or two
just to be sure, and presumably Watford will want to delay
official confirmation of relegation for as long as possible.

Some strange appointments here, especially Tierney on the North
London derby Kavanagh should have kept it.
Not happy with Coote on the Burnley v Villa game, would have
been better to see Atkinson Or Dean on that one.
Good luck to jon moss on probably his last visit to villa park,
having said that he will probably get the Villa v Burnley game.
( memo must drop by his shop in headingly next time i am there
to wish him well on his retirement ).
I would have liked to see Hooper on the Villa v Liverpool game.
I guess expected appointments for Jones, Salisbury, Hooper and
Scott.
Someone must think its bmb birthday with royalty twice in the
week, and top totty royalty on saturday.
One hundred lines for Andre, i must wear purple not yellow.

I hope Roy Hodgson gets a right royal welcome back to Selhurst
Park, I'm sure he will. Sad that his previous club could send
his present club down, but there will no room for sentiment at
SP on Saturday. I suspect Roy will not stick around, with Dyche
waiting in the wings perhaps.
