Indeed, without wishing to tempt fate I do think this referee
has been most impresive and I have great confidence in her
officiating in this crucial match

Marie-Soleil Beaudoin appointed to the other semi - wonder if
that leaves Australia's Kate Jacewicz for the final and
Anastasia Pustovoitova for the 3rd place match

I haven’t been following it too closely but for a while now
Bibiana Steinhaus seems to have been regarded as Europe’s top
female
I see she only had one middle in this competition ( the
controversial France v Norway game where she gave a pen after
VAR intervened) and has not been retained for the latter stages
Is her non retention because of the VAR incident, a consequence
of Germany’s progress to the quarter finals or maybe a
combination of both? Anyone have a view?

She got injured during/after that game so wasn't able to
participate any further.

Collina said during his media briefing that she would have been
retained if she was fit - must be frustrating for her. Although
she has done the final before so unlikely she would have been
asked to do it again, but she would have been nailed on for a
semi final with Germany being knocked out.

Are we tempting fate?
4th July 1990, World Cup Semi-final, England v West Germany,
Referee J R Wright (Brazil)
2nd July 2019, World Cup Semi-final, England v USA, Referee E A
Batista (Brazil)
Let's hope not. C'mon England!
Edit - alas not!

At media briefing Collina said that Steinhaus suffered an injury
during her only game and won't officiate again at this WWC.

Shame because she is such a good referee.
