Correct for the red card and a penalty, shame about the throw in
as him and his assistant was going West Brom
Then the fourth official obviously said something to change his
mind

I agree mattref20 , Webb has been very good overall and wow what

It’s a shame about the throw in decision as apart from that Webb
has got everything else just about spot on. Though if I was Webb
I’d be giving the fourth official both barrels in the changing
room as Webb gave it to West Brom originally and I don’t know
what the fourth official saw to change his mind.
No surprise to see Colin coming out with his usual anti ref bs
on sky. Though considering he thinks that you can go back after
the goal has been scored even after a throw in has been taken
then a corner given beforehand and change your mind after
talking to your assistant shows how much he knows about reffing
in the modern game, even though he calls himself a “qualified
ref”.

What I thought was really out of order on the throw in was not
the mistake, these things happen. But as the ref and assistant
had both flagged one way, when he changed his mind he should
have stopped them taking it so quickly as West Brom were setting
up for an attacking throw - that then compounded the error and
led to the corner and the goal.

There were a few things happening in the camera angle they
showed. Webb was going to give the throw to WBA. The assistant
was all prepared to give the throw to Forest as he put the flag
in his right hand before switching over to the left to signal
the throw to WBA. The fourth official Will Finnie was giving a
little signal indicating that it was a Forest throw. The whole
incident got Warnock wound up early in his retirement.

Love the way warnock loves to give his opinion, can’t stand the
bloke! It was a mistake and a costly one and I’m sure warnock
has made mistakes in the past!

Should a 4O be offering opinions on the direction of a throw-in?
Is that normally within a 4O's remit?

A pundit who doesn't like to give his opinion would make for
very dull viewing.
Two clear faults here:
The Fourth Official should not get himself involved, especially
when he is wrong. He probably saw Webb was a little uncertain
and tried to help him out.
Webb should have realised that WBA were disadvantaged by the
mixed messaging and got the throw re-taken.

Hope I don't see Fourth Official, Anthony Da Costa embarrass
Will Finnie in the same way tonight.
Anthony Da Costa will be Neil Warnock's type of official having
played at a decent semi-pro level.

Yes, 4th official can get involved in pretty much anything these
days. If you watch them in some countries they pay zero
attention to the technical areas and instead pace up and down
the touchline following play as it is in front of them.
