I would assume if changes had been made to the list released by
FIFA/UEFA recently that the referees would be advised before
they became public and at least one of them hasn't been told of
any changes!!

Well a clue - he's not named in the opening post but is named on
the FIFA list & was merely expecting the usual list of any
errors from his game in Romania this evening when it ended 18
mins ago & instead had a barrage of questions & now has the
unenviable task of calming me back down instead of putting his
feet up and relaxing this evening!! [emoji23] PS He wore black!

I was also expecting Beath to be included. I remember Faghani
doing well at the last WC so I also assumed he would go,
although I do not follow non-UEFA refereeing too closely.
There are also some other non-UEFA referees who were at the last
WC who I thought would be at this one.
To me, it would seem strange to slightly shorten the initial
long list at this stage and then cut it further a month before
the tournament.

Is Faghani still on the FIFA list or is he retired now? He was
very good at the last World Cup.
I’d not read too much into the list because one of the referees
allegedly now cut from the list knows nothing about it and is
actually definitely 100% still on the shortlist so it’s
certainly not accurate!

Do you happen to know if there’s an accurate list floating
around somewhere plz BMB?
Also just wondering if anyone knows when the shortened list
would be released plz?

I don’t know about other Federations. I’ll look on law 5 blog
later when I’m at my pc instead of being on my phone. If
anywhere will have them then it will be them.
I’ve asked around people who I thought would know if and when
any cuts to the list will be made and they have no idea. I’m
assuming it will be after either the summer training camp or the
autumn one as that feels like a logical time but that’s assuming
FIFA follow logic!
I would be very surprised if Ovi makes the final list. Whilst he
is recovering well, he’s set to be out for about 6 months and
I’m not sure it would be wise to throw him straight into a major
tournament that is going to be played in extreme heat.

Still on the list and doing his thing in the A-League. Through
some arrangement I won't even begin to speculate on the details
of, he's still considered an Iranian official despite currently
living and refereeing in Australia.
