James Linnington - Luton vs Nottingham Forest

A strange moment with a stonewall second yellow( could have gone
straight red for DOGSO) where there is a suspicion of offside,
replays not clear who the ball came off last.
Then the Luton players seem to be claiming that the player was
never booked. James Linnington was pointing at his card saying
he had booked him
All a bit strange

11 yellows and a red as well as a correctly awarded penalty for
Luton, seems a lot!. Also a goal ruled out for offside for
forest. Anyone able to pass comment?

No problem with having a view on here, as is shown by the
thousands of posts with differing opinions. What you can't do
however is question someone's integrity, state or imply
corruption, or make libellous or slanderous comments or launch a
personal attack on anyone. The vast majority of the posters on
here manage to voice their opinion without crossing those lines,
the minority who can't manage that will have their posts pulled
or edited.

It was interesting that m’learned fellow poster Hendo mentioned
about Linington and the amount of cards being flashed by him.
In comparison, Linington has brandished 134 yellows and 5 reds
in 29 games this season, which is a huge jump on last seasons 70
yellows and 3 reds in 30 games.
He is miles behind Breakspear though.. with 153 yellows and 7
reds in 33 games.

Linington made a fool of me after I commented I thought he'd
adopted a more lenient style recently after I watched him let a
lot go last time I saw him.
He certainly didn't do that on this occasion but the whole game
was quite niggly and most of the cards were supportable.
Attacker fouled for the 'second yellow' was I felt clearly
offside prior to the foul though.
Overall I didn't think Linington had a bad game. It was a
difficult one to referee with plenty of cynicism.

Seems like a reasoned and unbiased assessment from yourself,
much in contrast to the vitriol in the Have Your Say posts on
the BBC site from Forest supporters about his performance and
their disallowed goal. Topically speaking I think Judas Iscariot
got a better press than Linington!
