Keith Stroud - Fulham v Coventry

Well what did I do to deserve that?! Settled into my seat in
time to watch Darren Bond (a ref I really rate) lead the teams
out…….but no, shock horror, there he was, my favourite ball
kissing, hand gesturing, gurning, (Edited), strutting his funky
stuff at the head of the line. Holy moly. Afternoon ruined!
He lived up to all my expectations and was his usual fussy,
irritating self. So many times players of both teams tried to
take a quick free kick after an innocuous foul, but oh no,
Keithy wasn’t having any of that, he needed a 20 minute chat
with the offender no matter how trivial the offence.
He just drives me nutty, I don’t know exactly what it is, but
watching him ref a game of football is my equivalent of someone
running their nails down a blackboard 😆
To be fair, he didn’t affect the result, Fulham were abysmal
whilst Coventry were the best team I’ve seen at The Cottage this
season. It was actually quite a good game, but would’ve been so
much better with a ref who stayed out of the limelight and just
let the game flow

I shall be visiting CC for the first time in four years for the
Preston game…
At least we won’t have Stroud for it, and as a fact, we have a
0% win rate with him in charge this season…
I have a horrible feeling we will get Stephen Martin for the
Preston game….. just my bleeding luck!

I can't say that Stroud changed the result in any way, the
Fulham players/coach managed that all by themselves. Coventry
had done their homework in key areas and realised Rodak is weak
on crosses/set pieces and targeted him and Harrison Reed offers
little offensively, so they allowed him to go forward without
outlet by ensuring all the other Fulham offensive players were
tightly marked.
The Fulham commentators were screaming for a penalty at one
point but it wasn't.
My other observations, Stroud isn't that mobile, he didn't seem
to move outside of a narrow central band. He's not very tall so
when marking out 10 yards for a free-kick is was more like 9
yards at best? And only 4 minutes stoppage time at the end after
countless time-wasting, substitutions and a few injury delays
was at least a minute or two light. Then half of it was lost
anyway when Fulham imploded and conceded the 3rd but only 20
additional seconds played.
And please don't wish for Stephen Martin, even if he has bought
a correctly sized shirt now so we don't have to witness him
preening around showing off his toning.

Other than taking far too long to yellow card the Coventry
keeper for time wasting felt he had a decent game.
