       FA Cup Final
   DIR By: Whistleblower

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Usually at this point in the season there is a discussion as to
who will receive the great honour of refereeing this match.
After the last two unusual years of Covid and the double
appointees in Taylor and Oliver, this year should return to the
more usual appointments procedure of someone who has not
received the honour before. I simply cannot see anyone other
than Craig Pawson being appointed but what do others think?
The appointment of 4th is harder to fathom but I have a feeling
it might be Andy Madley; however Darren England's rise is very
meteoric and he is clearly in favour so it wouldn't surprise me
       if it were him.

I agree regarding Pawson - I simply can’t imagine anyone else
being given the honour this season. As for 4th, I think you’ve
mentioned two very likely candidates there. Has Coote ever been
4th in the cup final? Could be another name to throw into the
       ring.

A quick check shows that Coote has not. A very likely candidate
also as he appears to be a favoured one.

I also concur about Pawson , but given they are prone to serving
up surprises I wonder if Mike Dean could get it as a farewell
and I wouldn’t even be surprised if Attwell makes it double
domestic cup final appointments as regards I think quite
possibly the AR’s will be Nick Hopton and Simon Long - if
neither have had it and the 4th official I would say Graham
Scott not my train of thought but rather the people that make
       the appointments

Craig Pawson will 100% referee it and he deserves to. Wasn’t
Paul Tierney replaced as a 40 last year due to injury in the cup
final. If so he will do those duties

It should (and deserves to) be Pawson, and I'll go for Tierney
       as 4th and England VAR

I hadn't realised that Tierney has not hitherto been involved so
I think this is a very good prediction or perhaps Attwell as VAR

Unless he gets injured or gets covid it will 100% be Pawson. 1.
Because he deserves it for an excellent couple of seasons and 2.
He is the next “big-hitter” who hasn’t had it yet

I agree it will be Pawson. I also think Tierney is likely as FO
after missing out due to injury in I think the Wolves V West
       Brom game last season.
I wonder if VAR is also an appointment that will only be given
once? Attwell has already done it. Moss maybe?
What about ARs? I don't think Scott Ledger has ever had the cup
       final for some reason.
