Son: very Fragile?

In the Spurs v WHU league game yesterday Son demonstrated - not
once but twice - that professional footballers have been so well
drilled to go down as though shot that it has reached farcical
proportions:
1. The ball (it was out pf play) was kicked along the ground and
unexpectedly hit Son - who had his back turned - on the leg. He
went down as though shot, it was an embarrassment (or it should
have been) that led to a minor scuffle.
2. During the second half Son and Anthony Taylor were not
looking at each other and bumped together on the edge of the
box. Being unaware of who had bumped into him, Son again went
down pathetically as contact was minimal.
The reactions of players to the most minor and insignificant
contact reminds me of those comedy sketches whereby the doctor
taps one's knee with a small hammer to test reactions. Only in
football it is not funny at all.

.....particularly the one (was it The Two Ronnies?) where he
taps one leg and the other jerks!
Nottingham Forest did themselves out of a possible goal v
Liverpool when the forward went down after making contact with
the L goalie's hand. Why do they do it?!

Yes, a complete over reaction by Son and, sadly, typical of the
modern game in my opinion. Personally, I would have taken action
(YC) against the Spurs player who ran in and aggressively
grabbed hold of the front of the shirt of the West Ham player
who'd kicked the ball. There was no need for that behaviour and
it could have provoked more than it did.

Sadly, Leggy, you have described what is happening in at least
75% of the PL games played every matchday where players a re
just looking for an excuse to go down.
Unfortunately, this is starting to spread throughout the game at
all levels and all genders and it is making the game so much
more difficult to manage for the officials because, if they take
action, they will be pilloried by those 'running' the game.

Sadly, such behaviour isn't limited to just the PL from what
I've seen on TV. I would hope that if Referees took action
against such behaviour, they would be supported rather than
criticised. Certainly, they should be.

He's always been a diver which ruins his reputation as he's an
excellent player.

75%? That low? :D
SOn has previous like the rest of the Spurs team. What goes
around will come around at some point

The fact is that no referee's will give a penalty unless 1)
someone goes down and 2) there's an appeal, as the decision
"cannot be sold". This is a rod that referee's have made for
themselves I'm afraid.
There is no incentive for players to stay on their feet
