This fascination as to why some officials are missing on any
given week is beyond bizarre. They are human employees, not
robots, and can take time off just like any other employee. OK,
the nature of their role means the employers would rather they
took time off in the Summer rather than during the season, but
that isn't always possible. Then we throw in injuries, illness,
Covid, etc, and there are any number of reasons why it can
happen.
I happen to know why one official missed a recent game and isn't
with his normal pairings at the weekend, it is a perfectly valid
reason and there is no conspiracy theory, but ultimately it is
private between him and his employers, PGMOL.

Ahead of the FA Cup QFs, I'd be intrigued to know if there are
any reasons why Chris Kavanagh hasn't featured in any of the
3rd, 4th, 5th & QF rounds this season. He's the only SG1
official in that category. Cue the "we know what we don't know
and we don't know what we know" arguments!
