Matthew Donohue - PNE v AFCB

2nd time I've seen him now and he was even less impressive that
the 1st time. I have absolutely no idea what is or isn't a foul
after that game. The only consistency was that he was as
equally poor for both sides. One point he finally gave an
advantage signal after the home fans were giving him grief over
a foul he missed.
No idea what happened at the end. Parker & Smith both sent off.
Parker's conduct was unacceptable - he was screaming up the
touchline after PNE winner. No idea why, there was no foul in
the build up and it was a legitimate goal. He's denied using
offinabus in his post match interview but his conduct even
without it was appalling. No idea why Smudge was also sent off.
The fact that both of them required security staff to escort
them from the tech area down the tunnel is embarrassing and
completely bang out of order.
Poor referee performance but nowhere near as poor as Parker's
behaviour.
PNE won because they played better and got the ball in the back
of the net more times, no more no less. Respect to their fans
who joined in the DB7 applause (7th min every game applause for
David Brooks) and to whoever runs their twitter account for the
classy tweet during it.

Interesting and I give your judgement considerable weight bmb
because you are always extremely fair and find any positivity
you can in a referee's performance. A couple of years ago
Donohue really seemed to be a rising star but the reports on RTR
of late suggest that perhaps his constellation isn't shining
quite as brightly nowadays.

I saw Matt Donohue for the first time last weekend at Morecambe
which was his first league match outside of the Championship
this season. Other than a couple of free kicks I thought that
were incorrect he had a good game. Admittedly one team was more
dominant on the ball in that particular match which perhaps made
it easier for him.
I don't think that he stood out as a promotion candidate but I
wouldn't have thought the same of Brooks, Salisbury and
Harrington in recent years.

Parker has history when it comes to losing at the death and
losing the plot (us Fulham fans know that very well).
I agree, appalling behaviour and now a touchline ban coming.
I have to say AFCB’s disciplinary record this season has been
dreadful. Is Lerma still playing for them?!

Occasionally - in between bans!
Parker had completely and utterly lost it, not seen him do that
at AFCB before today. Pleased to see a lot of our fans calling
him out on it & not just blindly defending him as fans tend to
do.
We've always had a pretty good disciplinary record, even when
Arter was playing and I agree with you, it's been dreadful this
season & I hate it!

I've been impressed with Donohue when I've watched him live.
Although I think I've only ever seen him twice before but on
both occasions got around the field well and was consistent in
his decision making.

I'm sure he has more days like that than those like he did
today, you don't get to where he is by not doing so, imo.
Hopefully next time out I'll get to see what he is really
capable of.
