Bobby Madley quits as a PL ref

I was not expecting this. Whilst he was never my favourite on
the list, I hope that the "personal circumstances" are not
serious and do wish him well in whatever he chooses to pursue
next.

Not my favourite by any means but I certainly wish him well for
the future. Unfortunately, the vague statement put out by PGMOL
has helped fuel various rumours highllghted elsewhere on social
media, which is unfortunate to say the least. I guess the truth
will come out eventually but surely it would have been better to
have done this at the outset rather than let these stories run
rife. It should be fairly obvious by now that the PGMOL would
do well to invest in some press/publicity resource as their
handling of issues which attract media attention is, as always,
woeful. We may not like it but just to sit back and say as
little as possible in this day and age is not helpful and simply
allows the rumour mill to run out of control.

An unexpected decision. I wish him every luck on his future.
I watched him live a few weeks back on a UCL qualifier and had a
good performance. Pity.

What happens now Edy in terms of English UCL and UEL
appointments. Given we only have two elite and one first group
left, i guess Pawson, Taylor and Oliver are going to be
extremely busy on European duties!
Can second group officials be senior AAR in champions league
matches?

I guess that UEFA will pay attention to such details. Taylor and
Oliver will work CL group stage matches. I believe that they
won't appoint them together on the same matchday. Then we have
Pawson. He will get EL matches. So Attwell and Tierney will be
AAR's on many occasions.

Interesting to note that England now has less FIFA officials
than the nations of DR Congo, Cameroon and Saudi Arabia to name
a few....

I guess that UEFA will pay attention to such details. Taylor and
Oliver will work CL group stage matches. I believe that they

Would they go with a mixed team i.e. Using some Scottish
officials to make up the numbers. I don't think the likes of
Attwell and Tierney are experienced enough to take the middle of
a CL game if Taylor or Oliver went over.

If this is true, did he jump before he was pushed?
Either way, it appears harsh that he has had to do this for what
on the surface, although sensitive, appears relatively trivial?

Trivial? Tell that to everyone who is disabled. Good riddance
to him.
I have removed part of comment from my post, not because I do
not believe it to be 100% true, based on first hand experience,
but because I don't want it picked up by the gutter press. I
hate the press and don't want to give them anything they can
use!

If this is indeed true - would the NFF touch him after the
Edvartsen saga of last season?
