Simpson inexplicably gets the big game at the top..
Harrington stays in the FL after being less than adequate on
Saturday.

Thought Simpson was excellent today let the game flow got the
cards out later in the game when it got niggly, good fitness and
decision making

But Tim Robinson's decision to send off a Stoke player at AFCB
was labelled 'really harsh' on BBC Final Score. Must await the
Quest highlights later to draw my own conclusions.

Josh Smith 40 in Premier this week. Judging by his run of
matches and reports on here think he's being earmarked for
promotion

If he is promoted it will be a useful experience for him as he
will end up on board duty more than he would probably want.

One of those where if you are on the team of the player you
think it's harsh but on the opposition it's stonewalled. He had
his studs up and went right through the player. As an AFCB fan
I'd have accepted a yellow but it wasn't wrong to go red.

George Byrne was Robert Merchant’s replacement for this match.

According to today's Times, Wayne Rooney felt that 'errors' by
ref Andy Davies led to Derby's defeat at Cardiff, in particular
what Wayne saw as a foul on his player in the build-up to
Cardiff's late winner. Haven't seen any highlights, so cannot
comment further.

I was at the game and thought Andy Davies had a decent match. He
was very consistent with his yellow cards throughout and with
the goal I thought Uche the Cardiff goal scorer and Curtis
Davies were both at it as they both had hold of each other. It
was definitely a fair decision to not pick one over the other in
this incident. There was also calls for another foul earlier on
in the build up but again highlights didn’t show this to be a
clear foul.
Derby had most of the possession throughout and generally
controlled the game so I think Rooney’s frustration with not
getting a point and the administration situation was boiling
over.
It was good to see Andy producing a solid display last night
after an injury hit season last year. I still think he is one of
the most reliable performers in Select Group 2 in my opinion.
