55 mins gone and he is making this look easy!
Bit of an odd one in the first half from AR2, (not sure who it
is) but he signalled for a goal kick when the ball clearly went
out for a throw in to then reverse the decision soon after and
signal a throw. Looked messy.

Would also like to mention how refreshing it is for the
commentary team on BT Sport incl Glen Hoddle to be supportive of
the officials.

I have to agree, fantastic performance by Chris and the team.
Minimum fuss and I don’t think I can remember a decision which I
disagreed with or where a foot was put wrong.
Fitness levels top notch. Pretty sure I saw some dynamic
movement too… 😉
The commentary team were complementary, fair play to them - it
should happen more often! 👏🏻

Good to hear he’s done well. I’ve had half an eye on this game
and the other on Wolves v Arsenal where Oliver has been terrific
too.

It's refreshing and encouraging to hear commentators on both
those games praising the officials.

Excellent performance from Kav tonight. Well done to him & his
team. He often gets stick on here & not always deserved so good
to see him getting praise where it's due as well.

Martinelli tries (unsuccessfully) to prevent throw-in being
taken, Oliver plays advantage, and then Martinelli tracking back
takes out Wolves player while running at the defence. Both
incidents very worthy of cautions but still a rare situation..
Incident shown here (plus a load of rubbish spoken by the
pundits)

Total and utter drivel from Robby Savage. The laws appear to be
an optional extra to him. Why don't BT Sport send him on a
course to learn them- or even more so bring him to book?
Ferdinand just as bad- ruined a very good nights TV when two of
our best referees served up top drawer performances

There was a game on New Year's Day a few years ago, where I
think Michael Oliver was the referee. I think it might have been
Bournemouth and Brighton. I criticised him on the RTR thread for
not sending a player off for two clear yellow card offences at
the time in the same move.
From my memory of the incident - and also Chris Baird's red card
for Northern Ireland - I don't think two yellows would be
justified in law now as the first offence was stopping a
promising attack and that is no longer a caution if advantage is
applied.
As someone who can't see today's incident, I have some questions
from what has been described - what would the first offence be
cautioned for? Had play restarted at the point of the offence
and if not can you go back and caution?
It sounds an interesting situation and certainly if both yellow
cards are justified then I think a referee should show them.
