Goodness me that Burnley v Watford match was utter dross….
Worst “Premier League” game I’ve watched in many a year.
Highlight of the game was that Craig Pawson wore black!
What a waste of 6 FIFA officials being used for that rubbish.
To be fair Craig was on the naughty step this week for whatever
it was that he did/didn't do as VAR last week, maybe this was
his punishment!

Attwell on VAR duty at Burnley v United tomorrow night 3 days
after holding the same role at United v Boro - seems fair?

What was Olivier doing tonight how can he send Martinelli off
for that yes I’m an Arsenal fan and I do think the 2nd one was a
yellow, but if that’s the case that one wouldn’t of even
happened if Martinelli was going to be booked for stopping the
taking of a throw in, and how can you even give an advantage
when the ball is out of play, it should of been a yellow for
that then a free kick to wolves which means the 2nd tackle
wouldn’t of even happened

I'm an arsenal fan, and I disagree with you sorry.
Michael Oliver plaudits to him.
Both stonewall yellows, he's does well to play on from the first
one but Martinelli sprints 20 to 30 yards to barge a player in
the back.
If they happen in isolation 10 minutes apart no one bats an
eyelid, just because they happen to happen within 10 seconds of
each other its a talking point.
Don't see it often, possibly first time it's ever happened in
the premier league - someone might correct me on that.

Can’t see it myself sorry like I said 2nd one easily a yellow
but the first one in many ways it isn’t a yellow how can you
play an advantage when the ball isn’t in play, and if it was a
yellow for stopping the throw in surely there is no advantage so
should be a free-kick and then the 2nd wouldn’t happen and how
can you justify giving the 2nd yellow before issuing the first,
he didn’t know he was getting the first even Hackett said so

To be honest, whatever Hackett blurts out these days most people
tend to disregard…..

I disagree. The first caution would have been for adopting an
aggressive attitude - pushing an opponent. The ball was in play
when that happened so play rightly continued. The second yellow
card was blatant. Ideally Michael Oliver would have told
Martinelli that he was going to be cautioned for the first
offence on the run. That is always my practice when I continue
play after a cautionable offence, however it is not a
requirement.

According to law 15 Martinelli should of been booked for the
stopping off the throw but there should of been a free kick and
no advantage, so the game was restarted wrongly so in turn had
the correct procedures been followed the 2nd one would not of
happened

And according to law 12 “where two seperate cautionable offences
are comitted in close proximity, they should result in two
cautions”. Oliver was right to do what he did.

But he didn't stop the throw so Michael Oliver is entitled to
play on. The only time a player is not cautioned when he
otherwise would have been after advantage is played is if the
caution would have been for stopping a promising attack. It
wasn't. It was, in my opinion, for adopting an aggressive
attitude but could have been for distracting or impeding the
thrower.
