K A FRIEND - Palace v Liverpool

Why on earth is VAR getting involved with that collision between
Jota and the Palace keeper.
Jota clearly makes a move towards the keeper to collide with him
whilst the ball was heading out of play and in a different
direction.

Have to agree. How many times did Pawson look at that before
deciding it was clear and obvious? And I'm not convinced Friend
was too happy at the monitor. He must have watched it 4 or 5
times. I just wish he'd stuck with his original decision.

If the decision by Friend was initially a penalty, it would’ve
been overturned as a clear and obvious error in my opinion.
If I was Vieira I’d be rightly furious. Game killed completely.

Absolutely no penalty. VAR should never referred it. Friend
looking at it only from behind the goal. From the other way Jota
clearly leans into the keeper having lost control of the ball.
Very poor decision

Very poor decision. Quite simply not a penalty. VAR in
disrepute.

Albeit with some very close competition, possibly the worse use
of VAR in the Premier League so far?
Never a penalty in a million years! Just shocked (or maybe not)
that two highly experienced referees have looked at that and
both decided that the original decision was clearly and
obviously wrong!

That decision was a joke , it was not in the slightest bit a
clear or obvious error the only things obvious is that Jota went
into the goalkeeper as already mentioned and that VAR Pawson
must be half asleep ( apologies if that comment isn’t allowed )
would Pawson be happy if he was the on field referee and the VAR
sent him to the monitor ? Especially as there was nothing doing
this incident epitomises all that is wrong with the use of VAR
Thought Friend was poor throughout aswell to be honest gave
Palace YC’s for soft fouls and let Liverpool get away without
sanction

I’m a Liverpool fan and I didn’t think it was a penalty. If it’s
clear and obvious why did it take so long to review?
