Mark Russell was the assistant for Bristol City v Cardiff
       instead of Bhupinder Gill.

I usually think Dean Whitestone's a safe pair of hands out of
the current SG2 bunch (not a high bar, I know) but he was sloppy
       today.
Fulham's third was a clear foul on Bonham. As it's swung in, the
Fulham player is holding Bonham's arm, which means he misses the
punch. You see fouls given on GKs for less, so very frustrating
that was missed - in the end, the match-winning goal.
Michael O'Neill said on local radio that Mr Whitestone told him
he couldn't give it as a foul because he didn't give a free-kick
for something similar in the first half. A bizarre comment. A
       foul's a foul.
He seemed to have little or no authority. He fell for the
play-acting and time wasting, while the Tete injury saga was
       farcical.
Also, anybody know why Cairney didn't have to go off after
receiving treatment on the pitch from the physios? Stoke players
had to afterwards, but not the Fulham captain.

Are we sure that this is the real reason for his replacement?
OK, it's a straight swop with Geoff Eltringham but it sets a
rather dangerous precedent in my view if officials can be
replaced by virtue of comments made by a manager.

Remembering back in the day i was on local leagues and if a
certain team were not happy with your performance and they made
it known, the appointments secretary, knowing his officials
often had a quick phone call to ask you if you could referee
said team again within a couple of weeks.

Dave Allison used to do exactly that when he was in charge of
       the FL refs!
