Possibly two of worst judged challenges of the season in a cameo
appearance from Partay. To be fair, he only returned form AFCOM
at lunchtime yesterday, so jet lag may have been a factor.

Worrying if he is suffering from jet lag when flying from a
country that is just one hour ahead of the UK. That being the
case, hE should have been early into the challenges, shouldn't
he?

Shouldn't have jetlag, but getting off an 8 hour flight and
playing football less than 8 hours later is far from ideal. I
know it will have been first class, but I've been on first class
long haul flights and still felt awful after (work trips, before
anyone gets any ideas ..!). That said, Arteta didn't have to
send him on.

I’m starting to think that the EPL has a cunning plan B. It
requires a minor adjustment to the pitch and the laws of the
game.
The idea is that there will be four goals one in each corner of
the pitch (see diagram – goals marked A, B. C & D)
Team A will wear red shirts with white sleeves white shorts and
socks
Team B will wear light blue shirts with dark blue sleeves dark
blue shorts and socks
Team C will wear yellow shirts with grey sleeves grey shorts and
socks
Team D will wear white shirts with black sleeves black shorts
and socks
Goalkeepers will wear the same colour shirts as the rest of the
team but with green sleeves and a 3” green chest band same
shorts and socks as the rest of the team.
Four teams will be on the pitch and each will defend one goal.
The game will be played with a single ball, a single Referee and
4 Assistant Referees. Match officials will wear orange and
purple outfits with a harlequin pattern.
There will be no corner kicks, only throw ins – a reversion to
the old law that the first player to pick up the ball once it
has gone out of play will take the throw in.
Goals scored in any goal will count for all three teams not
defending that goal. That is, if a goal is scored in the goal
defended by Team A then Teams B, C, and D, will be credited with
a goal
Penalties and free kicks will be taken by the player fouled (or
who last played the ball in the case of handball).
There will be no offside.
The game will consist of 4 x 22.5 minute quarters – teams will
rotate to defend the next goal in a clockwise direction at the
end of each quarter.
The scores will be tallied at the end to give results for the
following combinations:
AvB
CvD
AvC
BvD
AvD
BvC
Hence six games can be completed in one 90 minute session, I
look forward to this option commencing in April.

Love this.
Maybe it is the only way we will get the yellow referees shirt
done away with

rearrange

Can't possinly happen because you have made no provision
whatsoever for VAR involvement!
Mind you, I hope that none of the IFAB Lawmakers read this forum

Forget IFAB, there was a flurry of excitement this morning at
FIFA. I did wonder how they intended to turn a 38 game season
into a 114 game season without coaches whinging about having a
rammed fixtures list...

Put me in charge of refereeing and it will happen within a
millisecond! The ink wouldn't even be dry on my contract and I
will have ordered it so! Failing putting me in charge of
refereeing, which is probably not the wisest of decisions, they
could let me write the job briefs to Nike/Adidas/Macron for the
next set of kits. The colour specifications would be very
specific!

Rules changed for future postponements
Premier League clubs will have to prove they have at least four
Covid-19 cases to get matches called off under new guidance
announced on Wednesday.
