       R JONES - Brighton v Palace

VAR extremely busy in the last five minutes and both the penalty
decision and the disallowed goal were correct.
Will be interesting to see how Jones gets on in one of the derby
       matches.

The referee needs to see the second incident as Butland clearly
had both hands on the ball.. Stuart Attwell good call on the
       penalty....

Fair enough to give the penalty but would like to see that kind
of decision being applied more consistently. Think there was a
game the other night (West Ham?) where a similar, more blatant,
       incident was ignored.
Would’ve also liked to have seen a firmer response to Vieira
       berating the 4O (again)

Considering the lack of appeals from the crowd and the players
in that penalty incident, it just goes to show VAR can be quite
       observant at times.

All in all good from Jones. Laid back and let them play 2
correct cautions. Not sure about the penalty as there was a more
blatant penalty earlier in the week at West Ham. Without VAR not
sure there would have been too much fuss.
He should be seeeing the contact for the disallowed goal which
is the only blemish on the night

I would suggest that if he had clearly seen it the VAR
       intervention wouldn't have been needed

We don't know what Mr. Jones saw or didn't see of that
particular incident. We can only speculate. IF he saw what
happened, which he may have done, I am surprised (even though
I'm a Seagull) that he initially awarded a goal. If he didn't
see the foul on the GK, then fair enough, VAR comes to the
       rescue.

I think from looking at the relay he was looking through a
Palace player and probably didn’t see it. However, I’m
disappointed he didn’t attempt to adjust his position slightly
to give him a better view.
Other than that, I thought he had a decent game. Maintained
control, cautions both correct and the penalty was a difficult
spot in real time so good intervention from VAR.

I am a little surprised Messrs. Jones and Bankes (4O) didn't
take firmer action against Mr. Vieira for his apparent extreme
actions on the touchline. I feel he went beyond what's generally
       acceptable.

       Are you really surprised?
The way in which dugout antics are dealt with is appalling and
inconsistent, usually dependent on the profile of who’s in those
       dugouts.
