Difficult with only 15 games the officials would expect 1 game
       each.
WR had to choose who has a realistic chance of going to France
as that's what they are working towards. For Ridley, too soon
for me to get a middle and he has no chance of going as a ref.
Peyper received 2 matches and judging by the appointments
perhaps wasn't originally set for R1 as Williams wasn't able to
travel (hence the lateness of these appointments).
Maybe Evans perhaps hasn't done enough to get a game (I thought
he had 2 decent outings in the previous window) so testing
Adamson was the next option as he is the one WR are just not
       sure about.

barnes and Pearce nailed on for France 2023 its just a case off
sending a 3rd ref ie Dickson or adamson or sending foley/tempest
       as a t.m.o

The authorities seem to regard Peyper as being in the company of
the world's best. I am no expert in Rugby refereeing admittedly
but that one beats me !

Totally agree, always gives me the impression of a disaster
       waiting to happen

Have to humbly disagree tbh, think Peyper has improved massively
over the past 5 years and IMHO along with Barnes at the top. I
think he gets a hard deal.

Where I can agree with you is that there was a massive room for
improvement and he has got better. However I don't consider he
is in the same ball park as Wayne Barnes or indeed Luke Pearce.
I would place Peyper on a par with Carley. In the context of
international refereeing a Beta ++ but not an Alpha. Opinions,
       opinions !

       interesting!
Again, I think he is extremely well trusted and experienced
enough to handle the big games in big matches. With such a
complex set of laws I think JP really is only behind WB
internationally. He is generally consistent through the 80
minutes and is highly regarded by the players and managers
alike. I can't think of many really controversial calls he has
made in recent years ( may be wrong). But after the match, you
generally don't hear his name being talked about.
Barnes, Pearce & Raynal (NH) and Peyper, O Keefe & Gardner (SH)
are at the top of their game and have been for a number of years
and fully expect (bar no injury or incidents) to referee the
       last 8 matches in France.

Peyper is way behind the level Nigel Owens was in his days.

Nigel Owens was at the top for many years, don't agree that JP
       was way behind him sorry!!
