Apparently c Hatzidakis has had an issue so Kevin Friend is
running the line, very funny but weird to see! Neil Davies has
just arrived as 4th official

Neil Davies will take over in the 2nd half, with friend
reverting back to 4th official.

A clear penalty not given on VAR review for foul on Odegaard.
Cannot understand what these VAR officials are watching

I think, if we’re being fair, that wasn’t a “clear” penalty.
I’ve seen it a dozen times, and I still don’t know if Ederson
touched the ball or not.
VAR reviewed it, and I’d be in total agreement that a review
wasn’t appropriate.

I'm an arsenal fan and I don't think that's a pen
They kept showing angles, 1 showing Ederson getting the ball,
the other showing he doesn't so I don't think review is
necessary
It's one of those if Atwell gives it, it won't be overturned by
Gillett but like we saw he didn't give so, Gillett doesn't
intervene

I also don’t think it’s a pen as it appears Ederson gets to the
ball first for me - certainly once Attwell doesn’t give it I
wouldn’t be expecting Gillett to intervene!

The totally ridiculous fall by Odegaard certainly did not help
his cause. I think it is inconclusive whether the ball or man
played first so I think deferring to Atwell's original decision
is the right call.

And now a penalty for City, given by VAR. How can 1 be given and
not the other? Silva throws himself to the floor, should be
booked for diving. VAR is an absolute disgrace

Another very interesting decision.
Xhaka very clearly has a handful of Silva’s shirt. His leg is
also brought across. Both of which could constitute a foul, but
neither brought Silva down.
Silva most definitely threw himself to the ground, which - in
isolation - would be simulation. The problem is the shirt pull
is blatant and probably can’t be ignored. A penalty feels
‘unfair’ because of the manner in which Silva fell, but equally,
he probably wouldn’t have got it if he simply stopped - which
also always feels wrong. Therefore, penalty correct for me.
The red card for Gabriel is inexcusable. Two absolute stick-on
cautions. Childish.

Both yellows correct and subsequent red for Gabriel
