       Jeremy Simpson

Every time I get to see Jeremy Simpson referee a game I am full
of wonder on what will prevail.
Yesterday at the Huddersfield v Blackpool game he showed a total
lack of thought to the safety of a player. Tom Lees was felled
in the Blackpool half and fell straight down laying prone and
motionless face down. Having watched a vast amount of football
you know something is a miss, Simpson didn’t he let play
continue and on at least two occasions glanced back at Lees. He
even played an advantage to Blackpool as play progressed for
over a minute. Once the Blackpool move ended with a goal kick
Simpson ran, not sprinted to Lees and whilst the Huddersfield
medical team were requesting entry to the FOP he took time to
caution a Huddersfield player for dissent about his actions.
When eventuality he permitted the medical team on I would say
Lees had laid motionless for nearly two minutes. The treatment
took nearly 8 minutes and hopefully the news from the club is
good and following the concussion protocol Lees will return
       ASAP.
Simpson failed on his responsibility in relation to the safety
of players and with any serious injuriy we know that every
second can count, Simpson I presume did not know it was an head
injury but the player was motionless. I really hope the PGMOL
take serious action against Simpson and his senior assistant but
       I know they won’t.

Nothing unusual about this then. Simpson is possibly the worst
on the championship list along with Davies. Awful referee

If this is true it's nothing short of a disgrace! Player safety
should be the first consideration. If indeed Simpson has failed
then he shouldn't take charge of another championship match this
season, this imo is serious, far more serious than key match
decisions. I hope he is offered appropriate training.

Why do you say "championship" ? Surely the safety of
footballers is paramount across all levels ?

The complete "irony" being he played advantage, implying the
huddersfield player had actually been tripped (by a falling
player who had been fouled himself)

Simpson is extremely fortunate to be making a fairly good living
from being a professional referee. easily one of the weakest in
SG2 and not as good as some in Leagues 1 and 2 .

Wow, he should have seen that first time, IMHO that's a yellow
card for player for swinging that out.
If, sometimes it happens, you miss it, you always glance to see
if he/she has got up. 1st or at worst 2nd glance you should see
he is flat out on the floor and immediately stop play.
At my level, normally players will have common decency and be
shouting at you to stop game. But at that level when there are 4
officials, at least 2 with good views. Play should be stopped.
Adam Herczeg, 4thers, or Steven Meredith, AR1 should have been
shouting down the comms to Jeremy Simpson and then play halted
but really poor. Only person imo who can't be blamed is AR2,
       Matthew Mcgrath.
