Ward resides in Surrey and with Stroud down in the south west we
were prime pickings for a seasonal visit from at least one of
       them.. 🙄🙄🙄

Think it's a poor decision to give Leigh Doughty the Barnsley v
Stoke game on Boxing Day. He took charge of the reverse fixture,
which he failed to control and was a contributing factor in the
touchline handbags towards the end of the game.
I understand there will be an argument about the Barnsley
coaching staff being different, but still. There are referees on
the SG2 list that are yet to take charge of Stoke this season
that might have been better suited, just in case it does get a
       touch heated.

Both clubs were fined for it. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough IMO
and the reverse fixture will be niggly as hell.

I have to agree with MKREF the performance that night was
totally sub standard and was the major contributing factor to
       the touch line incident.
Unlike TTFL I would like to see the root cause of the issue
being dealt with not the results The failure to deal with
Barnsley time wasting (of which I follow) was the main
       contributing factor.
I hope that the change in personnel at my club will mean any
repeat is not likely to happen. The standards of officiating are
in my opinion at an all time low and needs addressing. The main
root cause being the man in charge. When I was involved 20 years
ago we would analyse our mistakes and attempt to correct them,
now they seem to compound them or am I just a grumpy old AR.

Mr Doughty had a poor game (in my opinion) at the weekend
between Peterborough and Millwall with Peterborough unhappy
about an early challenge which they felt merited a red card (I
was unsighted, sorry) and what they saw as inconsistency in what
constituted a yellow card. He also fell for some dramatic
play-acting from some Peterborough players exaggerating
Millwall's strong-arm tactics and displayed a general lack of
control. But he has been appointed to referee Peterborough
again just three weeks later at Bournemouth.

Expect games to go this time of year but usually to the weather
       and not to a virus!
