Cardinal sin of a referee to guess a decision. Both Moss and
Marriner should be rested next week at least. Awful officiating.

Have you ever refereed without assistants ? What do you do if
you genuinely don't know ?

Social media awash with posters - no doubt supporters of the red
half of both Manchester and Liverpool - claiming City were
lucky. If you view the stats - 71% of the play as opposed to
29%, 24 shots to 1, 10 shots on goal to 1, 14 corners to 1 -
they would indicate to me who the dominant side were. I always
thought football was about winning by out scoring the opposition
and judging by these stats the right team won, even if the
penalty was contentious.
I won’t mention the dodgy pen and miscarriage of justice at
Carrow Road but, in the interests of consistency, now look
forward to a glut of penalties against Utd for the constant
holding by carthorse Maguire at every corner.

Re Hackett - Yes, yes but the trouble is, if the likes of
Hackett don't highlight this sort of situation then it quickly
gets brushed under the carpet.
If we are going to get VAR properly accepted then it has to
correct wrong decisions or it is going to continue to be
ridiculed. VAR should work well if the operators use it
correctly.

It really doesn't matter how little Wolves had the ball or how
many shots Man City had, the result was decided by a penalty
that shouldn't have been given. Football is about scoring more
goals than the opposition not being top of the statistics.

Stats can be misleading. How many clear cut chances were
actually created? I was listening to the game on the way to my
match yesterday and it sounded like next to none; how many times
was the goalkeeper forced into 'worldie' saves. Despite all
those shots and all that possession and still only won 1-0
thanks to a penalty wrongly awarded, otherwise it would have
been 0-0.

What an odd and quite frankly ridiculous comment. In other words
you are saying Man City deserved to be awarded an extremely
contentious penalty kick which decided the game because they
dominated the statistics??
There is only one statistic which matters in football and that
is how many times a team can put the ball in the opponents net.
Manchester City failed to do that on Saturday until the
officials intervened, despite Wolves playing the entire second
with ten men. Wolves can count themselves more than a little
unlucky.

Of course if Hendo had said that City deserved to be awarded
that penalty because of the statistics then your assertion might
be correct. However, he doesn't seem to me to be saying that at
all rather he is saying that City had most of the play and so
whilst they could be considered fortunate to be awarded their
first penalty in the Premier League this season, on the balance
of play, and I would add on the balance of the refereeing
decisions throughout the game, they didn't seem to me to be
particularly lucky to obtain a win.
