Any gossip or any release of info regarding if there are any
FIFA promotions for 2022 as yet?
We have one shiny white badge available to England and I suspect
it’ll be Jones or England the recipient.
Can Gillett get one as he is now officiating in England now?

Gillett - not yet. He needs a year on the PL, although as he is
ex FIFA that might be waived, I'm not sure.

Great to see Nick Walsh identified (rightly, in my subjective
opinion) as the Scottish referee for the future.
Good to see William Collum still there - I had begun to wonder
whether he might have stepped down this Winter, given that he
has not been receiving top appointments in Europe for some time.

Andy Madley was promoted to the FIFA list in his first year on
the PL list (albeit having done a couple of trial games
previously).

Probably not, they'll fly to Cyprus on the 30th.
Taylor & Oliver not involved this weekend due to the World Cup
training camp. Attwell who is also going only had a VAR
appointment on Friday night. Not sure when our English
contingent are travelling for the WC one. The Romanians have
just boarded their flight - 13 hour flight ahead for them. At
least the "have arrived safely" text to me won't be at a really
silly time! 7 hours for our guys if they fly from London, 8hr 45
min from Birmingham so presumably they will travel tonight or
tomorrow.

The training camp has been cancelled in terms o physical
appearance and will be carried out online instead.
The current FIFA one is in full flow. I'm told it's running
9am-9pm everyday and a very full program.

I suspect he’ll see out his career at UEFA to it’s maximum
length. He’s an official who loves the game, and I can’t see
him going before his time.
Nick, even at his relatively young age, has achieved everything
in domestic football as a referee, so international competition
will now be where he finds his glass ceiling (as all top
domestic officials must do). There are a number of young
(relatively speaking) referees who have been given their debuts
in the Premiership over the last two years, so it will be
interesting to see who pushes on. The introduction of VAR will
also help to blood some more at L2/L1 as more Select officials
required in the Premiership each week.

He did a game in Hungary fairly recently - excellent performance
from him on the day. He's just been involved in a recruitment
video, he speaks very well, good manner, level headed and
interesting. I'm sure he will very much appeal to young
referees as someone to look up to as a role model.
