P TIERNEY - Everton v Liverpool

Watching this one for the full 90 and things getting really
tetchy as you would expect.
Tierney doing well this far and the cards have been required.
The only odd decision was Thiago penalised despite Townsend
grabbing his shirt and fouling him.
Could be a game full of cards if this carries on.

Two Everton players carded for diving… looked like both were
spot on.

Refreshing indeed! I wish Tierney took a similar zero tolerance
attitude to the frequent mobbing / dissent incidents too :)
Agree with you, good 1H for him, always staying calm with
intense ambience / players.

Excellent performance from Paul Tierney. All cards correct and a
highly charged game was under full control. Well done.

I would argue that Robertson was incorrectly carded and Gordon
should have been for diving.
Other than that, Tierney was excellent IMO. His first Merseyside
Derby and he slotted in well.

Hendo are we not allowed respect opinion on this forum?
In my view he was wrong with the yellow to Thiago nothing in it,
and the Robertson one is an awful decision… he got the two dives
correct and missed another obvious one when booking Robertson…
I felt he tried to referee the games with cards. Saw Tierney
live at Liverpool v City were I felt he was exceptional..

To be fair, you didn't say it was your opinion, you just said he
was wrong.

At times, to me, he seemed to be trying to catch the game up
rather than being totally in control physically and
psychologically.
Maybe the number of times he allowed himself to be surrounded
and harangued by both sets of players (sometimes at the same
time) gave a misleading picture.
Overall though he got through it well and, unusually for a
Mersey Derby kept 22 on
