       Division 1 Appointments 1947-48 - Analysis

       Now that the research (on another thread) has gone as far as it
       can for now
       I have had a look at the appointments
       431 of the 462 referees have been found
       That is 231 pairs of matches (A v B and B v A)
       7 pairs are missing the referee for both matches
       17 pairs are missing one or the other match
       207 pairs are complete
       Of those 207
       186 (90%) had the same referee for both matches
       Of the 21 that did not, 14 were late season (last 6 weeks)
       changes
       Of the 431 matches found
       319 (74%) were full referees
       112 (26%) were supplementary
       43 of the 45 full referees officiated in Division 1
       33 of the 50 supplementaries did so
       It appears that those living in the South did far fewer Division
       1 matches
