A TAYLOR - Man U v Liverpool

Disgusting and terrible tackle from Pogba and an excellent
referral from VAR Attwell to upgrade to a red.
Doesn’t look good for Keita at all being stretchered off.
Ronaldo was lucky as well when he kicked out on the floor at
Curtis Jones.
United have completely lost the plot and I fear more cards will
be forthcoming.

I was surprised he went yellow first of all, VAR got that spot
on if there was ever a challenge that deserves a long ban that
was it dangerous and unnecessary.

Should not be elite FIFA officials be judging that for
themselves instead of waiting for VAR to bail them out.
I would question Maguire should have been dismissed mintes
before for DOGSO

It was a genuine attempt to play the ball so was not a red.
How Taylor didn't adjudge the Pogba one to be a red initially is
remarkable.

I’d agree with that, ball played through goal side would be
inside the box with the ball defender wouldn’t have got there

Genuine attempt is irrelevant outside the area. The only
question is DOGSO yes/no.
Looked like DOGSO in real time but the replays were poor. I’m
guessing it wasn’t clear otherwise it would have been
overturned.
Looks like the assistant gave it, as Taylor was definitely
playing on.

The Ronaldo caution was correct, but very poor discipline.
The Pogba challenge had red card written all over it as soon as
he overplayed it. Very surprised Taylor and the AR needed VAR to
make the right decision.

Really poor that it needed Stuart Attwell to get it right and
intervene to get Mr Pogba his just reward.
How on earth did Taylor, again failing to impress go yellow?

In my opinion the worst incident, Pogba's tackle, was correctly
sanctioned after VAR review with a red card. Maguire's foul
could have gone either way, certainly had a RC been issued on
the pitch I would not have expected a VAR intervention but or me
its 60/40 YC and therefore I think Taylor got that one correct.
Ronaldo's kick for me constituted VC and he should have been
shown a RC but in defence of Taylor and VAR Atwell I think that
a) The EPL want a relatively high tolerance for VC in those type
of incidents so Taylor probably correct as far as they are
instructed and b) I am not sure it was a VAR intervention worthy
incident. One of those 'umpire's calls' as has been referred to
a number of times in recent weeks where the on field team are
deemed best placed to judge the nature of the foul.
Otherwise I thought Taylor did well, very positive presentation
and excellent fitness displayed.
