M Donohue, Sheff Utd vs Millwall

Absolutely atrocious performance from what is meant to be one of
the rising talents.
Head was never in the game, didn’t have control from minute one.
Aside from an absolute stone wall indisputable penalty he didn’t
get a single decision right in the game, even corners and goal
kick were complete guess work.
He’s clearly not experienced enough for a game at this level,
after bizarrely sending Gibbs-White off for being fouled (?) he
completely lost his head. Players and supporters got on top of
him and he couldn’t handle it at all. Personal highlight was him
waving away a two handed push on the player in posession right
infront of him.
Demotion required immediately until he has the experience and
decision making needed for championship level football.

Hmm, I suspect you might regret this post once you have slept on
it. Any referee at any level of the game "not getting a single
decision right" is unheard of, at the professional level it is
just impossible.

I’ve seen highlights, and the dive is exactly that. No way is it
a foul. Clear, blatant simulation from Gibbs-White. Don’t know
about the rest of the game, but Donohue got that absolutely spot
on

I see the defend the boys, never criticise a referee brigade is
out again. This is why standards are through the floor.
Most blatant red card decision you’ll ever see with George
saville, already on a booking, cynically tripping fleck as he
was breaking. Not given. Forgot that one.

Blade, I’m very happy to criticise a referee if I think they’re
not up to scratch. See my recent post on Stephen Martin for
evidence of that. All I’m saying is you are clearly wrong to
pull up Donohue for sending off Gibbs-White for what you
perceive to be ‘getting fouled’. He wasn’t fouled, he tried to
cheat. Well done Matt Donohue for spotting it.
Hopefully in the cold light of day you may now realise that,
because complaining about that sending off throws the rest of
your report into doubt

RTR that brigade must be extremely small indeed as I can think
of very few contributors who have never criticised some aspect
of a referee's performance at some time or another. " he didn't
get a single decision right in the game " is such hyperbole that
no-one can be blamed for not taking it literally and therefore
it does cast doubt on the rest of the judgement. One can
disagree with a correspondent's view about a certain incident
without then being termed a blanket defender of all refereeing
decisions.
I didn't see the match so for all I know Mr Donohue may have had
an atrocious or a brilliant game but professionally I would
always relish defending someone when the accusation contains
hyperbolic statements which could not possibly be justified.

I made reference to Donohue's performance at Ewood Park on
Saturday on another thread. I did not see the game last night
but he was certainly poor on Saturday, including missing a very
obvious penalty in the second half. As I have said elsewhere,
the standard of officiating in the Championship this season is
simply unacceptable.

If you want to post rubbish like this, go do it on a Sheffield
United fans forum. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people happy
to blow smoke up your rear end and tell you that you're right.
If you can't take the rose-tinted glasses off before you post
then there is very little merit in discussing anything with you
on here.

His worst decision seemed to be the penalty he gave the home
team...
