Mid Season Level 4 Promotions

The F.A. have promoted a number of level 5's to level 4,
effective from this weekend.

I'd guess it's a large number. There were 9 in Essex alone.

Yes this is because many supply leagues have been short of
officials this season, more unprecedented than ever before. This
links in with a comment on another thread as the reason for
referee shortages. I know 3 colleagues who have given
up/retired, one has chosen to observe the other 2 totally
finished. A couple of others are injured and I know one who was
affected so badly by COVID that he has only just got back to the
middle in the last few games. In my own area we have new level
7's running the lines, with many (former) supply league leagues
(Manchester Prem, Liverpool County Prem) going without officials
as step 6 and 7 take officials according to the FA hierarchy.
Awaiting confirmation on how many have been promoted from
Derbyshire, if anyone has the full totals across the country.
Lets hope these new level 5's can handle the step up
