He was (successfully) deceived - an offence for which the
player is now serving a ban. He should not have been deceived,
but players are very good at this and have been allowed to hone
their deceiving skills for some time. Probably not his greatest
hour, but let's make sure we " ban" the offender and, perhaps,
give the referee a break?

A reflection of Linington’s solid start to the season I suspect.
UmpireIan49 has been very complimentary in a couple of recent
posts and others have agreed
Tony Harrington was the last SG2 to referee the Welsh derby if I
recall and look where he ended up, in the wilderness of SG1
playing with boards and tv monitors. So Mr Linington - beware!

He had a terrible game and gets no sanction, it wasn't just one
incident. He is out of his depth at this level.

According to the highlights Busby missed a clear penalty for
posh at 0-0. The Middlesbrough penalty was pretty clear cut
though

Something about Busby, Peterborough and penalties -
unfortunately poor decision, believed keeper got there first.
Kevin Friend also missing one at Notts F

Watched Chris Kavanagh at Millwall v Luton Town. I thought he
met expectations, although he made some controversial calls - a
couple of occasions where there appeared to be a clear and
obvious foul, he let play continue, but got the penalty call
spot on.
I'd give him a 7/10.

The standard in the Championship is not getting any better.
Like Busby, Donohue missed a very clear penalty at Ewood Park on
Saturday, and his overall performance was less than brilliant.
From what I've seen this season, I really don't know what the
future holds if this is the group that aspires to reach SG1. If
the best it can offer is Gillett then we are really struggling
when age catches up with our senior officials.
