It was indeed.
I worked with Sam from when he first moved to London and it was
always evident he was going to progress. Very good referee but
also a really nice and laid laid back guy.

No google search needed, I remember it well. It was against the
sadly departed Thurrock and Stuart Thurgood got the only goal,
perhaps unsurprisingly, from the penalty spot. Unusually in such
circumstances there was not the slightest word of criticism of
the referee. The red cards were for a good mix of offences and
there was a suspicion that the last couple (language and kicking
the ball away for second yellow) were self-inflicted to get the
game over with.
