How do referees like this get promoted. Do they referee
differently going up the leagues and then when they reach this
level they start referring not naturally but how they think they
       should?
He has no presence, no authority, his foul detection was random
at best, free kicks were continually taken from the wrong place
and I think he is trying to make football a non contact sport.
We are not in Europe, we do not want the game stopped when 6ft
plus forwards go down injured with a sore toe. Referees have got
to let the game carry on.
He obviously doesn't worry about time wasting in the first half
and how the Millwall goalkeeper didn't get booked until the 95th
minute is unbelievable. I know Goalkeepers can take goal kicks
from either side but at every goalkick to go to the far side was
blatant. But most times Simpson wasn't looking as he was
strolling back to the centre circle.
       But a cracking match!
Looking forward to seeing highlights of the Southampton game to
see if Mr S Hooper had an interesting game!!

Simpson has never been convincing, whatever league he referees
       in.

Descreet and covert I would say, in game that will be remembered
by both home and away fans for their teams performance, in my
opinion it will not be remembered for the performance of Mr
       Simpson,
The game was encouraged to flow when possible, minor misameanors
where noted and when applicable advantages where played, fussy -
       no - expirenced yes.
Thank you Mr Simpson for being forgettable and having the
confidence to play seven additional minutes for the noted time
wasting by Millwall - well done
