       I would like to say how much I enjoy reading JCFC's posts and
       reports - I find them very amusing , enjoyable and informative -
       I look forward to each report as I find them more interesting
       than the usual fare of Premier league, VAR arguments etc  - so
       thank you JCFC

       Aw shucks! Thank you. I can't pretend it's not gratifying to
       learn that not everyone finds my ramblings tedious. I must guard
       however against delusions of adequacy.
       The heyday of Pyramid Patrol, though, was several years ago,
       when there were several contributors, mostly in the North
       Midlands. WClark and Hx Philip are sadly no longer active here.
       The inimitable Steve, starting as makingupthenumbers, and
       progressing via several forgotten passwords to Mutn3, still pops
       up occasionally, though less frequently as his colleagues have
       either retired or moved on to higher things. Paulfootballfan
       used to run the rule over officials further South,and a number
       of others would post occasionally. Those were the days!

       Mrs W opines that whenever men meet at a function somewhere, the
       conversation swiftly turns to the route taken to get there and
       suggested routes for the journey home. Perhaps this is a
       somewhat sexist view and there are plenty of women who also
       enjoy conversing about transport matters. Public transport has
       its own particular devotees and I greatly enjoy reading about
       JCFC's transport and logistical challenges as well as the
       excellent match reports and informal match official assessments.
       The ever increasing and tiresome cult of personality is eroding
       that most gracious of virtues, modesty, but JCFC is a notable
       and splendid exception to that trend. I suspect he is as shrewd
       a judge of up and coming refereeing talent as there is.

       I too am an avid reeder.
       Unfortunately due to the progress of my own refereeing career I
       no longer travel as a ground hopper which is a shame
