Why can't the allocation of officials be random? Surely, if they
are all reading from the same hymn, sheet, they are
interchangeable. No need for "teams" or "selection" by a human
being?

Spain used to do that. A computer generated appointments. It
did, however, cause more problems than it solved, if i remember
correctly

I dont think computer generated appointments would work, you’d
end up With referees having the same teams back to back, or
referees doing teams they cant referee either because they
support them or its a rival of the team they support. It just
wouldn’t work logistically.
All the appointments require is a bit of common sense, thats the
issue currently, a computer isnt going to solve that.

mostly the same refs week in week out-shame madley/England are
not involved get 1 game one weekend the next weekend they don't
not very fair in my opinion
no sign of Gillet,salisbury Harrington or brooks yet and what's
the point of promoting them if its mostly the same refs we are
seeing for every premier league weekend they might as well have
stayed in sg2 which they have reffed matches in up till now

I'm hearing that following an injury, and only recently passing
the fitness test, Chris Kavanagh should be back on the
appointments this week.

Yes Chris has had a broken toe since end of June so should be
back soon
